What is Collins Home Primary Goal for the Collins Kids?

God was thinking of you long before you ever thought about him. -Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life
Creating A Fresh Hope in Each Child
The primary goal of the Collins Home ministry is to seek to rekindle within each child a fresh hope that the life before them can be meaningful and satisfying.
Taking inspiration from Rick Warren's book, "The Purpose Driven Life", we teach the children their lives have a purpose through God’s uniquely personalized plan for each of them.
One of the most important truths we attempt to instill in our children is that God loves them, and He has a unique purpose for each one of them.
However, because many of the children have been forced to live with difficult circumstances during their young lives, God’s love and His unique purpose for them may not be easily understood and accepted.
How Do We Approach This Goal?
The starting point is the moment a child steps onto the campus of Collins Children's Home.
Our staff begins the process of growing a loving and nurturing relationship with the child. As the bridge of trust develops, the child becomes increasingly mindful of the positive, Godly values observed in the daily life of staff through their actions, attitude, and words.
We are ever mindful that the children are watching us.
Our desire is that, eventually, each child will come to accept God’s unconditional love and recognize that He does indeed have a purposeful plan in place for their life.
