Our Collins Community Makes it a Magical Time
The kids are very excited that today is their last day of in-person school until January and maybe a little excited that Christmas day is one week away!
All of our children are blessed by sponsors that have lovingly purchased gifts from a wish list or made donations for us to shop. For many of our kids, this will be the first time to receive the Christmas gifts they requested.
Let us remember that the Christmas heart is a giving heart, a wide open heart that thinks of others first. -George Matthew Adams
There's just something magical about being a part of a child’s excitement during the weeks leading up to Christmas; the buildup - decorating the tree and the home; preparing the traditional Christmas Dinner and finally finding what “Santa” left for them under the Christmas tree.
Seeing each child's face light up is precious but seeing a face light up when their cottage sibling got the most wanted gift on their wish list is priceless. It means so much to our children to see that someone cared enough to make their day special.
Always a Treat for the Kids...The Christmas Lunch
This past Sunday, the children and houseparents enjoyed their traditional Christmas lunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant. This is such a treat for our children. It is also an opportunity for them to practice table manners and model the behavior they have been learning on campus.
They were all very well behaved and really enjoyed the yummy food. They also loved the unexpected visit by the Grinch. Thank you, Suzette & Hayes Cross for making this special event possible again this year.

A Special Thank You to Secret Santas
During this season of giving, we appreciate the efforts of everyone who purchased gifts, gave donations, or just came by to wish us a Merry Christmas. A special thank you to “Secret Santas” and our community for making this the best Christmas possible for our children under their present circumstances.
Our staff is very grateful to know that all we have to do is make a need known and our community will always step up to help. Most of our kids have never experienced a Christmas like this, so they are going to feel very blessed and thankful on Christmas morning!
From our home to yours, Merry Christmas!
