Making a Difference in a Child's Life

At the Collins Children's Home, we are blessed to know we have made a difference in even one child’s life. We consider caring for our children during a season of their lives as a privilege.

 

Our goal is to be faithful in that season as we strive to develop their lives spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. God is glorified when children who have lived here for a time and return to share their success stories with us.

Children are Our First Priority​

Collins Children's Home began as a ministry to rescue children from painful situations and to provide a safe, loving, nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive. Over the years, we have been blessed to care for hundreds of children, creating for them a home environment where they are part of an extended family in a community that cares for and supports them.

A "Group Home" that Truly Feels Like Family

The “group home” model we have developed creates a Christian family atmosphere where Christian couples serve as parent role models and provide a structured home where eight children live together as siblings. This, we feel, not only provides immediate support for children in distress; it also teaches them how to live in a family, to get along with others, express and settle differences and develop relationships. Community Leads to Happy Productive Citizens

Our vision is a community focused on improving the lives of children and families in need, teaching them life skills, and helping them reach their potential as happy, productive citizens.

 

Our ministry offers support to families in many ways:
 

• We provide a safe home for children whose lives are in crisis.

• ​We help them learn to live and work with others.

• We work with parents and children to teach important life skills, self-sufficiency and a strong work ethic to improve their own quality of life and that of the whole community.

• In all that we do, we share our Christian values as the foundation of a happy home and a productive life.

 

The Building Blocks Leading to a Better Tomorrow

Each child attends church services with his or her family each week with the goal of developing a heart and mind that serves God.

We provide counseling services in order to teach the children healthy problem-solving methods, ways to resolve past issues and to maintain a positive self-image.

Emphasis is placed on the child working towards a successful education. Tutorial assistance is provided as needed.

We also encourage each child to develop their individual talents.  We strongly believe these children deserve the same opportunities as others and we are their advocates. We know that they can rise above their circumstances and become productive leaders and citizens, to do their part to ease the sufferings of others in the future
