About Us

Collins Home Core Values

At the Collins Children's Home, we value a Christ-like acceptance of the children and families we serve – learning to take people as they are, even if we don’t approve of the way they are.
We value safety and honor the importance of providing a physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe place.

We value family, doing everything we do for children in the context of a family unit.
We value discipline, which we define as training, guiding, and praising to promote the right actions.

We value the power of example because we understand that we lead most powerfully by example rather than words.

We value compliance with the law, recognizing our Christian responsibility to willingly obey and comply with all civil and spiritual laws.

We value our historical association with the Christian community and see the salvation of souls as our highest calling and ambition.

We value stewardship, understanding that we honor God when we make careful and prudent use of the resources he provides.

We value quality care, which we define as providing the four-fold development of children and families in our care: Physical, Intellectual, Social, and Spiritual.

“Darkness comes. In the middle of it, the future looks blank. The temptation to quit is huge. Don’t. You are in good company… You will argue with yourself that there is no way forward. But with God, nothing is impossible. He has more ropes and ladders and tunnels out of pits than you can conceive. Wait.                   Pray without ceasing. Hope.”

John Piper
